York's Conservative-led Council would like to congratulate all A level students on their results, with very high standards across the city being maintained despite the major changes to A and AS courses which came into effect this year.
York's sixth forms- All Saints RC, Archbishop Holgate's CE, Fulfiord, Huntington, Joseph Rowntree, and York College have had very strong results, which means that many young people will be heading off to their universities of choice this autumn, including Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions, in addition to exciting opportunities throughout higher education.
Cllr. Stuart Rawlings, Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People said: "I'd like to congratulate all students from our school sixth forms and York College on their outstanding A level results. As a city it's crucial that we continue to focus on skills and education standards, which is so important not only for giving our young people the best possible opportunities for their futures, but also to drive forward the city's economic strategy to continue to expand York's flexible, highly educated workforce.
"The hard work, dedication and commitment of our students have paid off! Well done and good luck for the future."
