Young people looking for apprenticeship vacancies to start later this year are invited to a city-wide apprenticeship recruitment fair on 11 July hosted by City of York Council.
The event will take place at West Offices from 4-6.30pm. Recruiting employers and training providers are keen to meet young people, aged 16 to 24 who are interested in exploring an apprenticeship position starting later this year.
Exhibitors include City of York Council, Gear 4 Music, Haxby Pharmacy Group, Army Careers, York College, YH Training, 3aaa, CITB and Derwent Training. There will be apprenticeship vacancies in accountancy, social media marketing, engineering, IT, health, business admin and many other areas. Those attending are encouraged to bring a CV.
Over 100 local apprenticeship vacancies are available across the city and one-to-one advice sessions will also be on offer from Prospects, City of York Council’s Learning & Work Advisers, Jobcentre Plus and the National Careers Service.
Cllr Keith Myers, executive member for children, education and young people, said: “Our apprenticeship fair continues to get better each year, with many of York’s highly regarded employers attending who still have vacancies. I’d encourage young people who are looking for apprenticeship jobs that start this summer / autumn to come along and talk to recruiting employers and training providers .”
