Julian will be holding a public local plan drop-in event on Saturday 24th March at Haxby Memorial Hall, from 10am-12noon to discuss the latest Local Plan proposals. Julian will be joined by Haxby and Wigginton ward councillors, Tony Richardson and John Gates.
Local MP, Julian Sturdy said:
“It has been a long road to reach this point in the Local Plan consultation process, but the latest offering will provide residents with a definitive Local Plan which will shape York’s future housing need.
I have fought, alongside our ward councillors, against unsustainable development in previous Local Plan consultations, and I am pleased to say this is a much improved document. However there is still understandable concern in a number of areas to the north of the city, including in Haxby and Wigginton.
It is still vital that existing concerns around transport, infrastructure and flooding are made during this Local Plan consultation.
As this is the final consultation before formal submission to the Planning Inspector, I am encouraging residents to submit their views on the document”.
