Priti Patel has today visited York-based development charity, International Service, and praised the city’s army of activists and volunteers.
Speaking alongside Ed Young, York Central’s Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Priti said:
“It was great to visit York today and hear about the work that people in the city are doing to support good causes and make a positive difference.
“I was really pleased to meet Jo Baker and the team at International Service, and it’s fantastic that York is home to organisations such as this.
“If Ed is elected on 8 June, I know he’ll be a great supporter of York’s volunteering community. He’s incredibly passionate about the city he grew up in, and his business and political experiences mean he’ll be able to make a positive difference on all the big issues York is facing.
Ed said:
“I’m very proud that York is home to such an important development charity and it was great to hear about the work International Service are doing here in York as well as overseas.
“If elected as York’s MP, I’m really looking forward to working with all of York’s charities and community groups to make a real difference here in York, and further afield.”
