Businesses in York will soon be able to take advantage of free travel advice and support from an initiative launched by City of York Council.
Funded by the council’s iTravel programme, in partnership with Get Cycling and Love to Ride, experts will be available to visit businesses across the city to provide tailored travel planning advice as part of the Travel2work scheme.
The service will help organisations work with their staff to make it easier to commute using sustainable, ecologically friendly transport options instead of driving and have a range of potential concessions at their disposal to tempt York drivers from their cars. .
Councillor Peter Dew, Executive Member for Planning and Transport, City of York Council, said: “We all know how important it is to make sustainable travel choices when and where possible, both for our own health and for the environment.
“The travel2work initiative is an easy way for local businesses to get free travel advice for them and their employees tailored specifically to fit their needs and I’d encourage organisations of all sizes to get in touch.”
